Preparing Projects, Stationery, and Source Files

ePublisher AutoMap can transform your source documents with no special modifications. Prepare your project, Stationery, and source documents just like you do when you generate output with the other ePublisher components. In ePublisher AutoMap, you use a job to define the output generation and the applicable options. Every job names one origin, which is the project or Stationery the job takes its formatting from. The origin you choose determines what ePublisher AutoMap does when the job runs:

• If you created the job based on a project, ePublisher AutoMap synchronizes the project with the Stationery, and then it generates the output defined by the project. The job builds the project where it sits, using the source documents the project itself lists.

• If you created the job based on a Stationery, ePublisher AutoMap creates a new project based on the Stationery, adds all the source documents defined by the job, and then it generates the output defined by the project.

• If you created a publishing job and chose an ePublisher project as its origin, ePublisher AutoMap uses that project as Stationery. Each time the job runs, ePublisher AutoMap creates a new project from the formatting in the origin project, adds the source documents defined by the job, and then it generates the output. The origin project is never modified, and its own source documents are not used. For more information, see Using an ePublisher Project as Stationery.
